Formerly Wayne's Family Restaurant, we changed our name and menu in 2021 to River City Diner & Smokehouse. We wanted to be recognized not as someone's grand daddy's diner, but as OCONTO's best place to eat, featuring the best Southern BBQ you'll find in the entire Midwest. And of course we still have Caroline and her award winning pies!

We serve our BBQ menu after 10 am each day. Whether you want brisket by the pound, or some of our unique recipes like Loaded Mac n Cheese, or Brisket & Bacon Grilled Cheee, we have something for everyone. Have you tried the stuffed hash browns? The best, and we serve breakfast all day.
Catering & Events
We offer full catering, including bringing our tow behind smoker to your event for the cook and aroma of BBQ! Ask your server or drop us a line in the "contact us" section to talk about what we offer. You will also find us at events around town and in the greater NEW area peddling our BBQ to YOUR loyal customers. Contact us if you want us to set up at an event your business puts on.
